SOLVED Updating to 12.0-U5.1 - are my SMB Shares 'root'?

Hi
I read that in Update 12.0-U5.1, "root" user account cannot be an SMB user. This worries me. How can I tell if this will affect me? If so, how do I fix it?

Here's the thing. I'm a minimal interventionist with TrueNAS. I try to only use the CLI and that's Greek enough to me. Somehow, with luck, magic and a fair wind (and lots of forum help from you guys and gals) I managed to set up 3 Samba shares. That's all I need, and everything now works fine. I left well enough alone and forgot all the pain and methods that I used to set it up, and now I simply use it. I'm not a tinkerer.

Now I'm worried sick that an upgrade will break things. So, how can I find out which owner I set up owning my three shares - and - conditional second question then, if any or all are 'root', how do I create a new owner (say "SMB-owner") and swop 'him' in and 'root' out?

Thank you for your thoughts.

From what version are you upgrading? I'm pretty sure, recalling your past forum activity, that you're already over the "no SMB for root" hump - first in release 12.0-U1, I think.

Edit - I just opened your signature and I see you're on U5...

Thanks Redcoat. So - just to clarify - you're saying that if I'm on U5 now, if anything was root owned I'd already know about it (in the form of broken SMB shares) and since everything is working OK now, I should be fine to move to U5. 1? I think that's what you're saying but I like to confirm :)

Sorry to be so inexperienced, but I'm unaware of that, provision for it or how to mark it so. Looking at the options (via my phone) I don't see an option on how to set a 'solved' status. Could you elaborate a little please.
Thank you.

For the OP only there's an edit button at the top of the post string on the right hand side. That button lead sto the option to place the SOLVED at the start of the title and/or edit the title.
