I have an annoyance, that I am trying to fix. When I go to "network" on my windows 7 box. Freenas doesn't showup as one of the discovered computer. It finds all of my other computers but not my Freenas. CIFS is working I can enter in \\ip address or \\DNS name and it work perfectly.
I had this same issue, with my old Ubuntu server, before I switch over to freenas, however it was alittle different because some computers would see that server sometimes, and others would never see it.

All computes are on the same subnet. I have this issue both with wired connections and wireless.

Any ideas?

NetBIOS in a nutshell.

It worked for me at first, for two or three days, when I first installed 9.2.1.7 - never worked consistently since then. I gave up troubleshooting it after a while, but forcing FreeNAS to be the master browser seems to help at times.

Sorry totally forgot about saying my Version

FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE

It has never worked on Freenas, I have been using it for over a month now.

There has to be something I am missing. All of my windows 7 Boxes show up in the network window without fail.
