So can any of the experts here explain why when I install Truenas Scale it Freezes, crashes, lockups upon data transfers?

Its not a hardware issue. This only happens in Scale. No other software.

I can install Truenas core and transfer data whether directly attached to my workstation or my network.

If I install Scale the same way I installed and setup CORE, it locks up.

I do not see anyone, anywhere having the exact same issue.

Well here is a repeat of my system specs and a link to what steps I went through of what I troubleshooted.

Motherboard: Supermicro x11ssh

CPU: Intel E3-1245v5 4c/8t

Memory: 64gig Micron DDR4 2400 ECC

Hard Drives: 2-Western Digital Red 8tb 5460rpm 128meg cache CMR – Raid 1 mirror

2-Samsung 870 Evo 500gig 2.5” SSD Raid 1 mirror for Apps

2-PNY Optima 120gig mirrored boot drives.

Network Cards: Onboard Intel i210 1gb ethernet controller

Power supply is 600 watt 80+ Gold

So far Core has been working without a hitch. Would love to switch to Scale, but this issue is perplexing. Until I can find a resolution I dare not install my LSi Card, Intel 10g Nic, or extra drives.

I have be contemplating running a test bed on my T1-Hypervisor to see if it performs the same way,

What is a raid1 mirror? I assume the HDDs are mirrored as well.

Is your system stable if you rule out hardware? So you stress tested the CPU, memtest on the RAM? What is your exactly PSU model?

All drives are Mirrored through Truenas. All core components have been tested and firmware updated where needed. Power supply is Thermaltake 80+ Gold Toughpower, have run it with an inline power supply tester. 12v rails are no problem. Memory has had 4 pass test performed.

To reiterate this only happens on Scale. I have run WIndow's, OMV, Linux, ESXi, Proxmox, XCP, and currently running Core for the past 2 days with no problems.

Bypassing network and everything, I connected my NAS/Scale directly to my Workstation via network and it still crashed.

Reverted back to Core and no hiccups.

The initial test setup is about as basic as you can get.

I have run Proxmox with ZFS on a different machine and haven't seen the issue.

The only thing I have seen is there is an EDID rescrolling every 2-5secs, but that would still point to Scale as the issue.
