SOLVED Install TrueNAS SCALE and restore backup config made from TrueNAS CORE

I would like to migrate to TrueNAS SCALE from CORE. I realize that there is an "in-place-upgrade" option. But currently CORE is installed and running from a USB flash drive. And I would like to run SCALE from a couple of newly installed SSD drives. I don't anticipate that in-place upgrade would handle this situation.
I was thinking I could do the following:

1. Install TrueNAS SCALE onto the pair of SSD disks
2. Migrate settings from TrueNAS CORE on my USB flash drive to SCALE installed on the new SSD disks (in the same machine) by loading a backup config I have saved from CORE into SCALE

Will that work?
