These error counts look very high.
Mechanism or electronics problems rather than the platter.
The attendant silent retries would explain why the machine is slow.
I fear outright failure is not far away.

Code:
ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAG VALUE WORST THRESH TYPE UPDATED WHEN_FAILED RAW_VALUE
  1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate     0x000f   081   064   006    Pre-fail  Always       -       120579295

Personally, I would;
  • Back the system up, especially if you are running anything less than RAID-Z2.
  • Replace the disc.

You say nothing about your configuration. You really should.

Hello,

I've had a very similar failure today with the 4TB HIGH HOURS version of the OP drive and am willing try some things on the offending disk if only to help people in the future. Currently I am resilvering a spare drive and performing a badblocks -ws on the offending drive.

My NAS emailed me saying (summary) 'Pool state is DEGRADED: One or more devices has experienced an unrecoverable error. Disk is FAULTED.'

Under Pool status there were read (9) & write (6) errors for this drive, however SMART tests long & short appeared clean (see post at end).

System is Dell T20 Xeon, 32GB ECC RAM, RAIDZ2 (3X WD Red Pro, 2X Ironwolf) through LSI 9211-8i in IT mode running TrueNAS CORE12.0-U5.1

Seagate uses some strange algorithms to encode the actual value into "raw value".
I would run a long test on the drive and get SMART reports from other Seagate drives in the pool to compare the values.

Moral of the story. Run a badblocks test Looks like TrueNAS found the errors even before SMART. Keep up the good work developers and community.
