TrueNAS Core issue

Hello! I am using TrueNAS Core 12.0-U5.1 on a DIY server and have been running into an issue- every time a file larger than 200MB is being copied from one folder on the server to another, GUI won't load and the server becomes unresponsive. After a hard reboot everything works again.
I have been experiencing said issue since May 2021. No plugins installed, the only services running are S.M.A.R.T. and SMB, no VMs. All overclocks, underclocks and power management settings have been turned off.
What could cause this issue? I will appreciate any suggestions.

System specs:
Motherboard: ASUS Prime H410M-E
CPU: Intel Core i3-10300 @ 3.70GHz
RAM: 2x 16GB (32 GB total) DDR4 non ECC
HDD: 2X WD Red 6TB in RAID 1

Thanks in advance!

Possibly crappy Realtek® RTL8111H network interface.
Use a proper NIC and see if it makes a difference

Thanks for the replies!
The model number is WD60EFAX, these are SMR drives. But would it hang the server in such a specific situation?

Definitely change the disks out. ZFS does not like SMR. Also use a proper Intel NIC instead of the onboard one assuming you have an available slot

So we have:
1. SMR Disks
2. No ECC
3. Crappy NIC on motherboard

If they not been used for hosting the OS, the hang itself seems odd.

My suggestion is get yourself in a ssh session, and see if you can diagnose from the shell if it happens again.
