Thanks a bunch for the support. I'll go ahead and get some of the Starteck because I'll actually be able to get them tomorrow.

I have several other items and AOC from Supermicro that have all been solid so I'll probably look at those in the future too.

Those look like good honest Aliexpress sourced generic SAS cables to me. I buy SFF8087's that look just like that now and then, and see a small failure rate. They're cheap enough that you can just throw away the ones that don't work.

I can confirm that I swap the cables with some startech cables and all drives are picked up without issues.
