I did some moving around on my new server and ended up setting Storage/System Dataset Pool: boot-pool

It was on one of my zvol's but I have two 1.2TB 10K drives as my TrueNAS boot drives (mirrored when installing TrueNas Scale.) I set it for a 32GB swap. Is this all okay? I wanted to get some use out of those two drives which are better than what I have my data on. Hope this makes since.

You really don't want to put your system dataset on a cheap usb thumb drive, or (quality depending) a SATADOM or its equivalent.
Putting it on a boot pool of mirrored HDD's is OK.
Mind you 1.2TB of mirrored HDD is a little overkill for a boot pool. I boot one server from a 16GB Optane. The other boots from a pair of random ancient 120GB SSD's I found in a drawer.

Thanks, yeah I could put SSD's in there but it seems like a cost I don't need to incur. And since they came with the machine, I thought at least I could get some extra use out of them. Agreed a SanDisk Cruser is NOT likely the place to put anything on TrueNAS Scale anymore. Thanks for pipping up!
