Hello,
Sorry if question already addressed but I already spent about 30 mn looking at FAQs without success.
My point :
I got a motherboard ASUS P7H55-M that I equiped with Intel core i3 550 and 8Gb RAM (according freenas documentation for use of ZFS).
Unfortunately, when loading i386 freenas 8.0.1.RC2 SW, the upper 4Gb RAM are ignored. I guess this could be due 32b configuration of i386 freenas SW.
In freenas delivery server, 64b SW is named AMD64 which lets suppose that it runs only for AMD boards : which SW could I use it for Intel core CPU to run 64b freenas OS ?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Albert,
Don't let the amd64 fool you. Download the amd64 bit version and it will run fine. Both Intel and AMD processors support 64-bit code properly, it's just the way BSD has defined it in their development. I for one would like to see the naming changed to 32-bit and 64-bit.

I agree with Mark about the naming, it can be very misleading even for experienced users. He's also right that you need to install/use the AMD64 version and you'll be set.
