Hey guys, I have just installed Truenas on my mini PC, went thru the installation, and logged in to the interface, now the interface does not see my disk when I am trying to create a pool, but the disk is under the "Disks" section, have I missed a step when installing the OS?

Your one disk is being used for the OS boot pool. You need multiple data disks and also one or two boot disks in order to run TrueNAS. A "mini PC" is not going to be suitable for a TrueNAS server.

Yes, you can, and already are. It's being used for the boot pool, which stores the operating system. You need at least one additional disk to create a data pool to store your data. We typically recommend a minimum of two disks for a data pool in order to provide redundancy.

It's right to say you can't do that and be supported, but to be technically correct, it can be done if you're prepared to futz around with commands and deal with any outfall of not being standard/supported down the line.

It's your hardware, your data and your choice what you do with it, just make sure you understand the risks and know how to help yourself if you run into trouble.

I second the opinion that your hardware is not a good choice for TrueNAS.

@Lale : Ubuntu Server should garner the results you're after, or straight Ubuntu if you want a Graphical User Interface on the server.

TrueNAS is focused more on Datacenter-type use (large systems) ....which isn't the optimal choice for every environment. (No snobbery, our focus is on helping people get to their desired outcome.)

Hopefully this helps. There is a lot of information here on how to choose excellent hardware and system testing/validation and such that may be of use.
