Hi!

I would like to build a FreeNAS server able to
  1. Store my files (a few Terabytes)
  2. Smoothly run a Windows and Linux VMs, sometimes at the same time
  3. And act as a MongoDB server (several Terabytes of data, hundred of millions of small documents)
For this purpose, I plan to buy these hardware components:

Mainboard: Supermicro X11SPi-TF
Processor: Intel Xeon Silver 4112
Memory: 64 GB EEC DDR4
SSD (OS only): 2x Samsung SSD 128 GB 850 PRO [RAID 1]
Storage: 2x Western Digital Red 8 TB to begin with, soon joined by 2x Western Digital Red 4 TB
LAN: onboard 10GbE

This will be my first FreeNAS build. What do you think?

Thank you.

This build seems like a high budget build. I think it would be suggested to start with more hard drives if you want to expand your zpool or increase the size of your vdev. I haven't built my zfs server yet but I have heard these suggestions before. Interesting build though.
