Single iSCSI zvol target block accessed by multiple initiators

How safe is to use same zvol target extent to be accessed from multiple ESXi initiators?

I asking because zvol device block FS will be VMFS, which is clustered FS, but ZFS does not.

Perfectly safe, the concurrent access is handled by ESXi. ZFS will only write what is "agreed on" by VMFS.

It works just fine. I've worked with dozens of companies that use a zvol (or file based) extent with VMFS and have multiple (sometimes more than 5) ESXi hosts.
