Hello Everyone,

Not new to FreeNas but new to the forum. I guess that's good since I haven't had any issues with my deployments. I recently built a box last week for a friend and we decided to use 11.2 RC2 for the base install. It is booting off of a brand new SanDisk 16GB USB Cruzer (mini form factor). Today I received an email that the boot drive is "degraded", uptime is literally at 5 days right now. I have no issues replacing the drive but i just find it weird since i have used such crappy flash drives in the past and have never run into this.

My question is could this actually be degraded, bad flash drive, something related to RC2?

Sandisk have a bug in the new version. I switched a couple server to Kingston and they have been fine now. The Sandisks were brand new.

When in doubt, blame the USB flash drive.

After years of faithful service from Sandisk, and the new version of FreeNAS 11 coming out, and multiple other users saying they are having the same problem.... Yeah gonna blame the USB stick.
