Good afternoon, I have a FreeNAS test box (Dell PE R730xd) that I currently have booting from a 16GB SanDisk Cruzer Fit. Everything works great on the 16GB flash drive; when I try to install to the 64GB version, though, I get an error that the flash drive (da12) is not accessible and I am able to exit back to the main installation menu. Has anyone else had any issues with these flash drives? I am aware that a SSD would be a better choice for this device but the SSD that I have on-hand is not recognized by the on-board SATA HBA.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Here is the link to the troubled device:

Has the flash drive been formatted/used since removing it from the package?
You might try diskpart in the Windows Power Shell to "clean" the drive of any partitions
and then format the drive with FAT32.

There is no need to use diskpart or other horrible Windows tools. Use the FreeBSD gpart included with FreeNAS.

But the fact that both a USB stick and a SATA SSD are not recognized by the motherboard is a bad sign.
