Hello all,
I was able to successfully create an rsync task between my FreeNAS 9 box and my Synology when the Synology was on my LAN using module mode.
I moved the Synology to a remote location and forwarded port 873 to it in the remote router. I know the network connection is up because I can access the Synology's web interface, but now my rsync task is not working. Furthermore, when I read /var/log/messages I see nothing in the log about the rsync task or any errors about rsync at all. The only thing in the log is this:
Sep 26 19:09:23 freenas notifier: Stopping cron. Sep 26 19:09:23 freenas notifier: Waiting for PIDS: 14891. Sep 26 19:09:23 freenas notifier: Starting cron. Sep 26 19:09:24 freenas manage.py: [common.pipesubr:57] Popen()ing: /usr/local/b in/warden list -v Sep 26 19:09:25 freenas last message repeated 2 times
Previously, I found several errors that needed to be solved but now it appears that the task is ignored. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
EDIT: I see that the rsync service is in fact running on both devices.
