I know this is completely backwards from what people normally do, but I just moved a bunch of files from a Windows server to a FreeNAS box for speed issues. But I would like to sync the FreeNAS box back to the Windows server for backup reasons.
I've created an Rsync task in FreeNAS to push to the Windows rsync module that I created with DeltaCopy's server program. But nothing happens. If I use DeltaCopy's client to pull the data from the FreeNAS to the DeltaCopy server, it works but it doesn't copy the permissions for some reason. I have to then seize ownership of the data before I can do anything with it. I've read that the permissions issues are due to using both the client and server on the same machine. I just can't seem to figure out why the FreeNAS push to Windows server doesn't work. I have the FreeNAS added to active directory and the permissions and everything are on the FreeNAS already.
Can anyone give me any direction?
