[dont know if this is the right section for this]

So i'm planning to buy a second 8Gb dim(c9.. sadly a higher speed than it cur has as that one isnt sold any more) To hopefully use 3/4GB on my VM instead of the 2GB i'm using now.

At the current moment the Avg use of ram is:
wired:4,6G
Free: 1.9G.

I have read that increasing the ram would also increase the wired ram? assuming 80%.
I also have read that zfs scales down the wired ram if other processes need it?

I currently run the system with 1TB(its mentioned to have 1GB per 1TB).
So i could assume that having 1VM with 3/4GB and 2TB is save with 16GB ram?

I'm running W2008 with arma3 or TS3 server and so far every thing has been fine, though have not had a high connection count, so far only up to 4 clients.

I'm also not running it as full time arma 3 server, so no concerns about client count(max is set to 10 with PW).

Would my assumptions be correct?

Apart from that, freenas is used as storage/plex server.

I'm going to be honest with you.

I have no idea what the hell you're saying. I've read this four times.

I think they are asking if 16GB RAM would be better than 8GB RAM and that answer is yes. As for the rest of the crap you wrote, I guess you're asking if adding the RAM would help out your situation. The problem is, you didn't communicate your situation properly because I don't understand what you are saying either. If you are questioning your RAM being too small of an amount and you have the money to add 8GB more, I'd do it.

As for Wired and Free RAM values, those actually sounds fine to me. If you ever hope to understand those terms, you will need to do some Google searching, not asking here. It's a FreeBSD thing and it confused the hell out of me the first time I read about it. I took a couple of passes before I kind-of understood it.
