I'm getting poor performance from a system that's been installed for about 1 year.

In Vmware, when I copy a ISO from one drive to another 1 get 40Mb per sec then slowly it degrades to ~25mb per sec.

Potential Problems - ??
- I see that there are 650 Processes in Reporting > system > Processes
- Looks like l2Arc is not optimal - ARC Size = 12G L2Arc =83GB

Questions:
- Is there a checklist that I can go through to pinpoint the sources of the problem?
- how do you do a non-destructive disk speed tests with dd?

Thanks

San Switch got replaced with a NetGear 8 port 100/1000 switch. Could that be a problem?

Reporting must be wrong since when I do a TOP it shows that 43 are running and 42 are sleeping.

At one point a backup server was removed but sync jobs kept running. Could that be why Reporting shows this error?

Hard to tell as 9.3 is pretty old and there's been a lot of bug fixes (some to Reporting) since then.
