Need Help restoring from server Fail/Error

Brand New to FreeNas, installed about two weeks ago and configured one pool of 24x1GB drives for backups as a CIFS share. This config ran great for approx. two weeks and had about 10TB of data stored to it.
Came in the other day to find the machine with db> prompt. When I restarted the server it hung at Importing zpools for some time. But would end up at db> prompt.
Was able to get the server rebooted by use of none default boot option. All setting had been reverted to defaults.
When I tried to import the volume I would see my Backups volume but the import would not succeed. If I SSH to the server I would see my pool listed using the zpool status command but still not visible in the gui or accessible via the share.

Not certain what to do from here. Any help greatly appreciated.

What did you have configured in freenas? What controller are the disks attached to? You might want to try a fresh install on a new USB stick and see if you can import your pool or even upload your configuration file from the old install.

So right now, you have the pool imported, but the GUI doesn't know it. What happens if you do 'zpool export Backups' from the shell, then try Import Volume from the GUI?

Just the one volume RaidZ3
CFIS Share and one user with permission to access
two network interfaces.

I have tried that and the Export command runs forever (let it run for couple hours) then rebooted. on reboot the the pool is missing then ran Import with same result, task does not end. but if i kill and then run zpool status i see the pool there.

I have tried the above from both Gui and CLI
