Hy Guys,

this questions and its answer is somewhere out there and has been asked 1000 times i guess, but i cannot find the solution.

I have a freenas box running (FreeNAS-11.1-U2) and Plex Media server (1.12.2.4929) installed on it via the plugins.
Everything worked like charm BUT after changing my ip adresses internally in my network, the server is not reachable any more.
I also enabled port forwarding to 32400.

I changed the Ip adresses to static in my router as well as well i have reinstalled the plugin and tried to set it up newly. Neither of those approaches worked and the server does not appear when i go to: http://"IPADRESSE:32400/web/index.html

Also do the server settings not appear and therefore i cannot do anything there.

My assumption is that the somewhere in a config file or something, the old server settings are still present and plex is trying to find the server there somehow.

Do you have any clue where to look or what to do?

Your help is highly appreciated

regards,
Simon

You would probably find a bunch of articles talking about iocage jail network issues specifically on 11.1-U2... consider going to U4 and look at some articles which talk about "ifconfig bridge0 addm igb0 up" (if you're using the new UI and therefore iocage for jails)

If you're using the old UI and therefore have a warden jail, look at the plugins list and see if Plex is set to "ON" there.

I'm quite new to this stuff so I don't know where to look at.

The Plex plugin i have restartet, reinstalled severall times.

A funny issue I noticed is the fact that when I reinstall the Plugin. The jail get automatically reinstalled and receives my OLD ip adress which I used before.
Is there some old stuff floating around that causes such troubles?

Help is much appreciated.

Thanks

You need to change the settings in the configuration tab for your jails to match your current network. Click on the "Advanced Mode" button and you can make the changes there.

Could it be that you intended to use 10.0.0.1?

It seems like you are using the public address of 1.0.0.x instead.

My Router is on 1.0.0.1, my Network adress Range is 1.0.0.2-.199

My intention is to have my freenas on 198 and my plex server on 199

Those are not valid private IP addresses; they belong to ARIN.

Guys,

You saved me. Now it works.

Why my router and Freenas let me assign wrong ips is another question.

Anyways, thank you.
