Hi all,

First off - a massive thanks to this forum for all the advice we've already had from it, it has been invaluable.

Have tried searching for answers to my question many times, but the more info I've uncovered, the more questions I have, so thought it best to join and ask in person.

As per the title, am looking to find the best config for an 8 x 8TB Truenas build feeding three clients editing video, or two clients editing from the NAS with one transcoding media to it, or just to know if it is even possible at all with that setup.

After doing lots of research we were favouring going with a 2 x 4 disk Raid Z2 setup. Whilst the media we would be working with would be backed up elsewhere, the added safety of RaidZ2 seems preferable to the speed of 8 x 2 disk mirrors.

Will two striped RaidZ2 Vdevs have enough IOPS to feed three clients editing video simultaneously though? The video will be HD and is unlikely to be greater than 150 - 200 Mbps per stream.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
