I have a pool of five 8TB WD Reds and I was getting this message for one of the drives.
I ended up replacing the drive, so my pool is now good, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do with the old drive. With a little searching, I've found mention of writing all to zeros, but it wasn't clear. I've popped it in a windows machine and have formatted it. I did the windows error checking and it found no faults. I was thinking about putting it back into my TrueNAS machine and see if it still read the unreadable/uncorrectable sectors.
The drive is about 5 years old, so I don't mind just tossing it. But, if there can be a fix, I'll give it a shot. Any suggestions?
