Hi all,

Brand new to this. I've setup my hardware and turned on my box, all powers up fine but no signal is going to my monitor to start the installation. Any ideas why this might be? I've tried using an HDMI cable and a VGA, but no joy with either. I don't understand why.

Any help would be hugely appreciated as this shouldn't be the first problem I have. Haha.

That system board is more of a gamer/Windows board, while FreeNAS is a server-oriented software package. Also, FreeBSD (on which FreeNAS is based) has a history of somewhat-less-than-perfect support for AMD CPUs, though that may not be your problem.

Was there ever a time when the system produced video output to your monitor? i.e., are you able to boot the system and enter the BIOS setup? Can you boot any OS at all on the system? DOS from a USB drive? Windows/Linux/FreeBSD from a CD?
