Hi

Im new TO fREEnAS, I am installing it on vmware wks 4 and installed free nas as a virtual machine.and am able to access the WEB GUI from a diffrent server. I have a 20 Gisg nas OS disk, and 3 additional disk SCSI installed on the vm, but when i try to create new volume in freenas web gui it says that the member disk are not available and are needed. Do i have to run a shell command to make it visible to the FreeNAS OS.

Check my reply mlbailey's question (or search for vmkfstools ESXi).
I made the disks pass through in ESXi and then added them to vm as existing drive.
Those drives can then be accessed with any OS.
You might want to check the drives by booting from CD with parted magic.iso. (add cd drive to your vm with that iso as image file). If it finds the drives FreeNAS should find them also.
If FreeNAS refuses to add the drives to RAID or ZFS you might need to clean/erase them using the erase disk tool on parted magic.iso.
