I have a PC with one raid 1 set for backup data, and one 40gb hdd where freenas is installed on.

Is it possible to move an existing installation wich is done to an hdd, to an USB stick?
Maybe I can give it a try with acronis or something, but I really don't know if thats correct.

Or maybe do I have to do a new installation to usb disk, and import settings or something? I dont want to loose the data on the existing raid set.

backup config from GUI to your desktop/laptop
install new version to USB thumbdrive
power down NAS
unplug old drive, plug in USB
Boot to USB
log into GUI, restore config
have a coffee and wait for it to reboot.

Per the manual, anything bigger than 2GB. 2GB might work, but some aren't really 2GB.

Is it possible to import the setting from X86 to 64B ?
My Freenas is X86 now, and was thinking maybe 64b will work better.
