SOLVED modify config before uploading it/before it takes effect.

I just got a new motherboard so I could run ECC on my truenas.
The old installation freaks out and won't take commands because of the new nic.
is there a way to get my old settings back without removing the current nic?

In general, you should be able to use the console to modify the NIC configuration.

I ended up getting it to work. Found out that even though the console just displayed errors and cleared my input I could blindly type in everything in the correct order and it worked. Thanks.

The console should had defaulted to a scrolling text menu, which if I remember correctly will re-display the menu if you press return.

But, in any case, glad the problem is solved.
