Thoughts on Mirrored vs RAIDZ2:

Both will give you about the same usable space (2x3TB). Mirrored will have superior performance, RAIDZ2 technically allows for more robustness in that any two drives can fail vs. "no two matched drives can fail." Mirrored is easier to expand down the road (two disks at a time) whereas RAIDZ2 you're either adding four more disks, or replacing all disks one at a time with larger models and then "extending inside the pool."

I would step up the amount of harddrives to 6 and run raidz2 :)

Personally I would go with a 6 disk raidz2 configuration (at least).
Ditch 16gb of ram for roughly the same price.

Mani, when you get to the point of wanting to spend money, give me a PM. I'll help you pick out stuff. Us military(and ex-military) gotta take care of each other. ;)
Cyberjock I have read a lot of your post and they have helped me very much. From one ex-military guy to another ***Thank you***

Thanks for the thoughts on mirrored vs RAIDZ2, I am going with RAIDZ2. and stepping up my HHD from 4 to 6.
