I think the missing disks are connected to my hba - SAS9220-8i (FW 20.00.07.00-IT)

i booted back to 11.3-U5 but my disks are still missing -

one pool is missing and the other is degraded with two missing disks.

Please Help

where is the dmesg ?

the hba is used and i have had it about 5 years.
i thought maybe it was the update that broke it.

but it could also be the hba - my wife wouldn't let me buy a spare

Should be /var/run/dmesg.boot by default but you can pull it just with dmesg at the shell, and redirect to file.

Grep for mpr mps or mpt in the results, assuming you're using an LSI HBA.

i checked the hba and it had a crushed spring on the back of the hba board. i think this caused a short circuit.

i am buying a new one now

i got a IBM M1115 today. and i can see my disks again.

the only problem was when i booted truenas 12 windows 10 could see my smb shares but windows 7 couldn't.
i went back to freenas 11.3-u5 - windows 7 and 10 worked with my smb shares.

i will post a separate post when i have time

Any chance you're using root as the user for W7 and another user for W10? Root can't share SMB in TrueNAS 12 (but can in FreeNAS 11.3).

windows 7 and 10 both use guest access
