Hi,
has anyone succeeded with installing Logitech Media Server on FreeNAS8?
I have read the tutorial on SlimNAS8, but that is for 64bit systems.

I am running FreeNAS 8.0.3 on 32bit x386 architecture and would like to install LMS on it.

Not sure but isn't SlimNAS for FreeNAS 0.7?
Regardless, please let us know what are you trying to achieve. From my understanding Logitech Media Server will serve media files to any compatible device. That is what minidlna does in FreeNAS Multimedia version (default in 8.2). If that is what you need, please search the forums for "minidlna" you will get instructions how to easily setup FreeNAS as multimedia. Personally, I will wait for 8.2 and install the plugins, just to avoid any surprises.

Any reason why you use a 32bits OS, instead of 64bits? Your hardware is not compatible?

I want to stream audio from my NAS to my Squeezebox Radio.
The problem is that the Radio is not a real dlna client. It needs Logitech Media Server to feed it.
I tried other dlna servers, but they did not work. And I don't think minidlna will work too.

Regarding the 32/64 bit OS: my system runs on a VIA C7 Esther processor, I don't think I can run the 64bit FreeNAS on that, can I?
