Local timeserver "not reachable"

My firewall box provides NTP service to my lan. But I can't add its ip to FNAS's timeserver list: it's allegedly "not reachable". It's pingable from the shell called from inside the GUI, and the FNAS box is pingable from the fw.

Neither the docs nor a search in the fora yielded any mention of the problem.

I believe it has to be a string value, so I think you need to put in a host name that can be resolved.

Turn off NTPD on FreeNAS and then try "ntpdate <yourntpserver>" from the NAS CLI.
