Is there a way I can make a local replication task output encrypted data. Meaning that the data on the beta(destination) freenas computer would be encrypted so I could store the beta data anywhere. From the Manual it dose not look like this possible with the stock tools. I looked at rclone and hashbackup but was unable to mount a volume from the other FreeNAS box inside the jails I created. I do not want to run VM's for this if I can avoided it.

I am not sure how I would mount that zpool and upload as encrypted files to the cloud from a Mac or WinPC.

EDIT: From the top of my head: I've seen a veracrypt container being advised but don't know if it can be accessed using a Mac.

rclone is the best answer I know of, and you don't need a jail for it--it ships with FreeNAS by default (it's what they use for their "cloud sync" feature).
