how do I set up a static IP for the jail that is also visible to the router?

Generally speaking, if you put the router IP as the default gateway and use a static IP outside the DHCP range, things should work.

A better way of managing it requires you to understand a bit more about your router... DHCP reservations.

Not all routers give the possibility to reserve in the GUI, but many do, so if you're in luck, you can either use the router GUI to look for the jail in DHCP and reserve that IP (make the current lease permanent) or in some cases you may need to use the MAC address of the jail to set a new reservation outside of the DHCP range.

In any case, it's probably as simple as that if you know your router well enough.

to use the plugins (nexcloud, mine os etc ..) from the web, I have to set a static ip visible from the router and then set to no-ip the port that uses the plugin (?)
