Hello,

I get:

5004-5007h: 20 0 63 3
5008-500Bh: 20 0 63 3

My system is :
HP Microserver gen8
i5-3470t @2.9ghz, turbo 3.6Ghz, , 35W, VT-d, AES-NI support. Seems that it supports ECC also( Not listed on intel ark though)
2*8GB Kingston KTH-PL313E/8G ECC UDIMM
FreeNAS-9.10.1-U4

That would be quite the plot twist, but I seriously doubt it. If not even the i3s do, having odd i5 models support ECC is plain weird.

Well, it is a T version, i5-3470t. And it has 2 cores + HT, like i3's. Not a quad core i5.
G1610T,G2020T does support ECC with C204 chipset in HP Microserver gen8.

http://ark.intel.com/products/65703/Intel-Core-i5-3470T-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_60-GHz

CPU , that does not support ECC, does not POST in Hp microserver gen8 at all. Like i5 3470, i5 3570, i7 3770 and etc.

CPU's that does work in HP Microserver gen8 with ECC memory are:

G1610T
G2020T
i3 3240
i3 3220
i3 3220t
i3 3240t

With Vt-d, AES-NI support:

i5 2390t
i5 3470t
E3 1220L
E3 1220L V2
+ all E3 12xx V2 series V1 series.

added few pic

sorry for bumping an old thread, but I'm thinking about purchasing an i3 3220 CPU to use with a X9 motherboard.

Is it confirmed that the Ivy-Bridge i3s do not support ECC RAM?

Hello all. I'm surprised about this post.
I had 1x 8go RAM ECC (CT1012472BD160B) in my config.
And I recently bought the same RAM.
I wanted to test my 2 RAM with Memtest86+ and it's by searching on the web the fiability of ECC that I found this post by chance.
Today in 2018, do we have an answer if ECC is working ? And if we can test it ?
I tryed ecc-check programm and I don't have the same results than others:

When I install my 2 ram, result is :
5004-5007h : 20 20 66 3
5008-500Bh : 0 0 60 0

Wen I reverse those 2 RAM, result is :
5004-5007h : 20 20 66 3
5008-500Bh : 0 0 60 0

When I install only 1 of the 2 RAM, result is :
5004-5007h : 20 0 62 3
5008-500Bh : 0 0 60 0

Wen I install my second RAM only, result is :
5004-5007h : 20 0 62 3
5008-500Bh : 0 0 60 0

I don't know how to interpret those results, but for different persons in this post, result for 2x 8go RAM was :
5004-5007h: 20 0 63 3
5008-500Bh: 20 0 63 3

Can you help me to interpret those results with mine please ?
And anyone can to say me if my ECC system is working well ?

Thanks for your answers

The output may have changed with microcode and system firmware updates.

If you mean your X10SL7-F and i3-4130T, the answer is most likely yes. I have observed ECC errors being detected on my X10SLM+-F with an i3-4330.

Thanks, it's reassuring.
Yes, for my supermicro X10SL7-F with a core i3-4130T and 2x8go (CT1012472BD160B). All components support normally ECC (seen in technicals datasheets).
Where can I see if there is ECC errors detected ?

Finaly, if I understand well, today, we can't yet test if this fonctionnality (ECC) is working and if it is working correctly ?!!

Ok thanks for your answers.
I am alleviated to know that ECC works well with my system.
Like many people using FREENAS, I built my system with ECC technology which also more expensive !!
See you soon.
