I have a problem with my Network sharing and I would like to consult the forum to see if there is a good solution. After updating my freeNAS to the latest stable 11.1 version I lost access to my SMB shares on my Nvidia Shield TV. I strongly suspect the reason is The recent upgrade to minimum protocol of SMB2, as the shield only supports SMB1. Nvidia has known this for well over a year now without fixing anything with it so I’m not holding my breath for that. So what other alternatives do I have? Is it possible to convert an SMB share to NFS? I only have one Windows machine on my network and the intention with it is not to have it linked to the NAS in the future. So could NFS present a viable solution? Are there other alternatives?

That is uncalled for. For the record, a long-time forum member requested this for security reasons: https://redmine.ixsystems.com/issues/34762. We agreed (due to the security reasons) and published the workaround for users still needing SMB1 in the Release Notes: https://www.ixsystems.com/blog/library/freenas-11-1-u6/.
