The documentation say to use FreeNAS from usb instead of cd you must download the .img.xz file instead of the .iso file. I have no idea why it is not the same file for either case.
This creates a giant problem when there is no img.txz files to be found from at the download links. Only .iso files are found.
I tried extracting the iso to a bootable usb drive with no success.
Should I just give up and repurpose the $900 box I built for FreeNAS or will it be this struggle with outdated resources the whole way through. I am quickly realizing what looks good on paper here is just not the case.
