Hey everyone,

I am trying to install FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201509022158 on a intel mobo se7520af20 with a 3.4ghz Xeon CPU with about 8gigs of ram. I am using a USB stick to install (the install media does work I did try it on another box and it boots fine). The install hangs on boot at the lines
em0 Intel Pro 1000/legacy....

The nics that may or may not be causing the problems are two on board nics.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Got it to boot by disabling the onboard nics, installing another one....not a great solution but it works..

You know this board was end-of-life'd by Intel almost 10 years ago, right?

I'm just saying, if anyone remembers the difference between 1975 and 1985 (barely had home computers and they didn't have monitors, vs, IBM PC) and 1985 and 1995 (IBM PC vs Intel Pentium) and 1995 vs 2005 (Intel Pentium vs Intel Pentium D) and 2005 vs 2015 (Intel Pentium D vs Skylake), in each case, it's like being blind, then coming in to sight. And in each case, it's hard to imagine expecting something designed to work on the thing on the right still working well on the left.

Ten years is too young. If you let your computers get to be 10 years old, then they are literally a different generation.

I am aware, however, money talks and free is always nice.

It is currently working without issues.

That's what DOSBox is for. As for Windows 95 games, sorry, you're screwed.

I still have a DOS 6.22 VM.

While the last Windows version of my text editor (Kedit) is about 10 years old, I occasionally use the ~20 year old DOS version on my Win 7 machine.
