Hi,

after fresh install of truenas scale and the first thing i tried to do was set a static ip address for my nas server but with GUI but it doesn't seem to work.
i followed the instructions from documentation page but at the point "The system attempts to connect to the new static IP address. If successful the Save Changes widget displays." I tryng to connect the GUI on new ip adress but don't response. I tried several times but it doesn't work.

Does the new static IP address match your network? Did you enter the new address into the address bar of your browser? Have you tried increasing the timeout?

Go to the physical console and verify that it is indeed the correct IP address that you just set.

i changed the timeout (the value is not intuitive that it can be changed) and set to 180 and now I can access the GUI on the new ip but and I have validate the changes but after reboot the machine now it's impossible to access to the GUI on new ip.
I have trying to ping my gateway at 192.168.1.1 and is unreachable but I have set gateway.
Why is so compilcated to do a simple thing.

It doesn't really address your question, but really, it seems that trying to change the network configuration using a service (the web GUI) that has to be accessed through that same network just isn't a very sound plan. The console setup menu really seems like the better way to go.

To be fair a "do not ask, i know what i'm doing" checkbox would also be a welcome addition.

in my opinion if you put a feuture like this in a web gui i would expect it to work.
it doesn't work anyway, i tried again from the gui and i have increase the timeout up to 260 seconds but the gui don't response on new ip.

I'd agree with that. I don't know how well that works (or doesn't) because I've never used it. All my "static" IP's are assigned through static DHCP by my router so I never have to muck around with the actual individual machines.

i tried again increasing the timeout to 600 seconds and no waiting modal appear but now the gui response to new ip and I have confirmed the changes. i think there is a bug on the GUI.

Try rebooting and see if that fixes it.

after reboot the gui is not reached from browser and also my windows pc can't ping truenas server but if I attach a monitor to the truenas server I can see that he has my new ip, 192.168.1.12.
this is absurd thing.

That's really odd. How are your computers connected physically?
