I Can't Access the Gui After Upgrade from 9.1 to 11.2

I attempted to update from 9.10 to 11.2. I know that's a big jump, but I read a forum online that said it was okay. I found a guide on Youtube and all was going well until the reboot. Now I can not access the gui interface online and I can't access the server via the network. I can see the server is active in some capacity within the console. I can reboot directly from the server by typing reboot into the console, so I expect I have some control over the server. I'm not a programmer though and don't know how to code my way out of this predicament. The reboot process gets stuck at the following point.

middlewared: setting up plugins (system) [2/34]

I was able to successfully ping the server. Any help would be super, greatly appreciated : )

Do you get the console menu?

You'll probably have to reboot back into 9.10, so you can save your config. When you get to GRUB, select your previous boot environment. Once you're back up, save your config. Then, you'll probably have to reinstall using 11.2, reapplying your saved config, and then re-importing your pools.

unfortunately, section 2.6.5 requires access to console menu and I've been unable to bring up the menu.

No, 2.6.5 is the boot menu, not the console menu. Just power-cycle to reboot.

No, its not. The correct way is to go 9.10->11.1->11.2. Otherwise your configuration might get messed up.

Samuel - I've reboot the system several times, prior, but it doesn't solve the issue. The system always get stuck at

middlewared: setting up plugins (system) [2/34]

The system eventually continues with the boot but then requires a "login". I've entered the login in for the online gui, but that didn't work.

Do as Samuel suggested. In the FreeNAS bootmanager select the old 9.10 FreeNAS system to boot up.
Then login into the GUI and remove to new environment.
After that do the step by step update.
You'll need to connect a monitor and keyboard to your box to access the bootmanager.
