I'm having stability problems on one of my 3 FreeNAS since upgrading.

The box seems to reset services randomly, looking through the log file I see some swap pager IO errors that look nasty.

How would I go about troubleshooting this?

You did not look at the forums before posting did you? This has been posted over and over again here. Do your research and search the forums a bit before asking for help, it will help you find your answer quicker.

Hi Joe Schmuck thank you for writing.

After searching for "pagefile error" and then "9.2 unstable' I realised I was out of my depth and chose to ask the question as my third ever post into the "noobs" forum.

Thanks for being such a remarkable individual by not at all helping and rather pointing out that I need to do more research in a subject I explain in my post is over my head.

Hey this is all voluntary, so thank you for your time. A little less abuse next time would be nice, but who knows if ill be here for that.

Brett

Well you made me laugh. Trust me, there was no abuse from me, but we do have an attack dog roaming the threads and he bites. lol

I simply think people should do some of their own leg work. Maybe you need more experience in how to do a proper search in a technical forum like I'd search on just one of the error codes at a time and place it within quotation marks. It may take several hours up to find something. Lord knows I can spend several days on an off looking up a problem before I'll request help, but it depends on the situation.

Good luck.

<bites locutis(of borg! resistance is futile!)>

In a bit of irony, Best of Both Worlds Part 2 is running on my TV right now.

joeschmuck is right though. You really need more search-fu. If you ask questions we've asked 100 times, you'll get a snotty response from me, or at least one you don't fully "appreciate" like what joeschmuck gave. If you ask a question that isn't asked regularly you can be assured we will jump out of the woodwork to help you out. I've done many Teamviewer and Skype sessions to help people for free with unique problems.

Does Google's results for "freenas samba smbd fault_report log_stack_trace" seem relevant to your issue?
