Hi SolarW,

I'm not quite sure what exactly you are trying to accomplish but this might be a viable alternative:

https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/details?downloadGroup=VSP510-VMA-510&productId=285

That's a vm you can download & install to your ESXi box that allows you to manage your ESXi boxes very much the same way you would with the vSphere CLI tools.

Personally I use my vMA vm to run the APC PowerChute Network Shutdown application to do a clean shutdown of my vm's when the power goes out and my UPS runs low.

Thanks for you answer.
My plan B - install minimal Debian Linux VM and install VMWare vSphere CLI on it.

Install VMWare vSphere CLI directly on FreeNAS - better way in my situation.

You are kind of missing the point. You aren't supposed to install anything on FreeNAS. There's only like 8MB free and FreeNAS needs that free space. Not to mention any upgrade you make to FreeNAS will wipe out your installation.

Edit: The jail may be an option depending on how the CLI works.
