How do I install an OS on a VM

Hi ya'll,

Everything is running perfect on my freenas server. backups and fileserver stuff are working great!

Question (btw I didn't think I was going to mess with the VM stuff but I like to tinker) how do I install an OS on the VM?

I can run the vm in the live session for the OS but when I install the os, it installs. However, it asks me to restart. So I do. When I reboot it just goes back to the live session. :(

Can this be done? Pretty new at the VM stuff so I'm not sure it even can be done. LOL!

Eject the virtual CD or whatever media you're using to install the OS into the VM.
