Gigabit not working on HP Microserver?

I have an HP Microserver and freenas 8.0 running but the network card wont run at gigabit speeds. ifconfig shows it running at 100 full duplex using autoselect speed. What gives? is this normal? What am I doing wrong?

is it plugged into a gigabit device? are you using a cat5e cable or better? have you tried a different cable?

I'm pretty sure others have used the HP micro sever successfully.

It's connected with a proven cat5e cable to an apple airport extreme. All other devices on the airport are running at gigabit speeds. Only the HP microserver. Not sure what I might try or what I did differently.
