FreeNAS Disk Busy Report and Plex Jail?

I have two volumes in my FreeNAS system, Data and Data1. I'm trying to figure out why when checking the Disk Reporting the 3 HDs in my z1 Data array run around 80% busy while the 6 HDs in my z2 Data1 array run mostly at 0% busy.

With all my jails on Data I did turn off each jail and found when I turned off the Plex media server the Disk Busy dropped to a few percent from about 80%. If no one is using the Plex server I see no reason for these loads.

Any suggestions on what to look at to see what's going on?

p.s. the last scrub of Data took 62h4m (zero errors) and Data1 only took 7h28m (zero errors).

Are you running regular SMART tests on your drives? I'd check all of them in Data and see what's going on. Sounds like one of them is getting flaky.

I ran the short SMART tests and they showed no problems. I also ran the long SMART test but can't find the log file. Can you tell me where the output of the SMART long test would be or do I have to direct it to a files?

You run it from the command line. smartctl -a /dev/da0 replace da0 with each of your disks number.

Where do I find the output report? I've run that command on each of the three drives and couldn't find the report(s).

In running smartctl -a on all three disks in Data it reports all as PASSED. I understand the telling IDs are #5, 194, 196, and 197, below are the values reported.

Disk #5 #194 #196 #197
ada0 0 31 0 0
da6 0 35 0 0
da7 0 35 0 0


I also get all disks as PASSED with the six disks in my Data 1 volume the same results, except for disk da3.

Disk #5 #194 #196 #197
da3 57 35 87 0

Doesn't really explain my issues with my Data volume, but maybe I should keep my eye on da3 in volume Data1.
