Forum unavailable around Xmas.

I have been trying to access the forum from the 24th onward till this morning without success.
IXsystem was also down.
Was it intended and planned or simply a result of some attacks?

Apparently it was a rather significant hardware failure, but @JoshDW19 might be able to share some specifics.

Some suggested an issue with DNS but as a traceroute did not reach their IP, it had to be something else.. bad timing, but at least it was not the day/week of a release.

My understanding is that it had something to do with a network switch that failed at a Colo that hosts the majority of our resources. Our new IT team has been working on building out more redundancy. Unfortunately, this one bit us before we got up to speed.
