While thinking about a backup plan
I was looking at some youtube vids ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AjuEG_Ug4g ) from Lawrence Systems.
And then i noticed he used a windows client and was able to see previous versions of files.

We got a month of daily snapshot, and yes i can clone a backup to restore files as an admin.
If some users could do this from the fileexplorer, this might reduce some work.

I'm in doubts on why this is, might be something from the past before i worked here.
So some questions :

- Might it have been intentionally disabled (if users can access it so can cryptoware ?), or its somehow safe against such attacks ?
- We might have misconfigured something that needs to done client side or freenas side ?.
- It might be some required permissions to be able to see this something to configure in freenas/samba ?
- As for cryptoware, i wonder is there maybe some plugin or so for freenas that detects certain massive file changes (suddenly lots of doc's get changed) ?

In our environment freenas knows of samba but its root account is not inside AD
We run a slightly older version of freenas 11.1 (yes its update is planned).
