I've deleted files on my FreeNAS server from my Windows Client, but FreeNAS reports the drive are nearing full. So the files aren't clearing for some reason. Any ideas?

Do you have snapshots? If so, you will need to delete some of them.

When you say nearing full - did you run out of space? If so, deleting the files is a little trickier.

Either snapshots are enabled and active, or the recycle bin isn't empty.

Ok...I have Snapshots Task enabled for every 6 hours, 9AM to 6PM, with Keep Snapshot for 6 weeks..so there are only 2 per day. How much space do snapshots require? Should I reduce it to once per day or even less frequently?
I have not reached full yet, but am getting an alert. Do I empty the Recycle Bin via File Explorer in Windows Client, or is there a better way to do it in FreeNAS?

Snapshots require the amount of space that has changed. So if nothing changes between two snapshots the the space will be very close to 0kb. On the other hand, if you deleted 1TB, then the snapshot would be that 1TB. So in order to free up discs, you will need to find which snapshots are taking up space and remove them. Keep in mind that once you remove a snapshot, you can no longer revert to that point in time.
