ECC Error On Boot

I am getting the following message when I try to boot my TrueNAS machine
ix0: Critical : ECC Error!! Please Reboot!!

I am running TruNAS 13.0.U2
A Supermicro motherboard with 32 gig ECC memory
Other than a problem with Plex in a jail with a network issue, the machine has been working great.
Yesterday I started to get the above message and the machine won't allow me to access the machine.
At the end of the boot process, it shows the menu and right after that I get the above error.

I am assuming this is indicating that my memory has decided to be defective.
Would this be the correct answer or am I missing something.
TIA Bob Ivey

ix0 should be an Intel 10GbE controller... You don't mention one in the system specs though.

In any case, this sounds like the NIC has a problem, not the system memory. It's also worth checking the IPMI event log.

You are right, it is a 10g dual card. I will check the IPMI.
Thanks, I will report back.

In that case, the problem may be as simple as corrupted firmware on the card. Worth a reflash before junking it.

Is this in a tower or rackmount style case? 10GbE network cards can often get very warm under load, which could manifest as ECC/memory errors.

Use caution and "feel" the air around the heatsink first, rather than touching it and risking a burn.
