Hello folks!

I'd love to have pyLoad in freeNAS. A simple and elegant download manager, which you can access via webinterface.

"pyLoad is a fast, lightweight and full featured download manager for many One-Click-Hoster, container formats like DLC, video sites or just plain http/ftp links. It aims for low hardware requirements and platform independence to be runnable on all kind of systems (desktop pc, netbook, NAS, router).
Despite its strict restriction it is packed full of features just like webinterface, captcha recognition, unrar and much more.
pyLoad is divided into core and clients, to make it easily remote accessible. Currently there are a webinterface, command line interface, a GUI written in Qt and an Android client. Screenshots can be found here."

I already found a forum post at pyload.org, maybe that does help?

It would be great if you could tell me, if you're going to implement this. : )

Very much thanks!

Hey guys,

is there any photo gallery available as plugin for FreeNas? Or an easy way to setup one myself?
Thats about the only thing missing here preventing me from switching over from my aging Synology NAS...

Thanks

ownCloud has a gallery app, but it isnt very full featured. You basically just browse your photos based on directory structure.
You can share individual or whole parts of the gallery which is nice.

Yeah I've seen that, thanks, but that doesn't cut it unfortunately.

Any other solutions?

Thanks:)

Yeah if I'd knew the first thing about that I'd do it:)

But you listing the required components is a start so i can get reading, thanks;)
O/c if you have some helpful pointers/tutorials for one or more of the steps I'd be happy to save myself some work:)

Thanks

edit:
Got a tutorial for creating a jail: http://www.howtoforge.com/creating-a-jail-with-vnc-server-on-freebsd that should get me started :)
Just found the info in the documentation:p So i guess I'll start there:)

I would like an easier way to synchronize user right across PBI's and NAS filesystem: Ive been putting a lot of time in being able to write to shares via a mount in a way that my standard users can use their own user rights.

A combined PBI for SabNzBD, Couch, Sickbeard and Headphones would be great, too. Just like Sabnzbd Suit on Openelec...

Is xbmc a possibility. If not are there any recent guides to how to create a PBI. Don't know much but I'd give it a go

I'm not sure what the point of XBMC on a headless server would be? If you're just looking for library sharing, you can easily install MySQL using a ports jail. So maybe a MySQL plugin rather than an XBMC plugin?

Due to the fact that you can run it xbmc as a server, It handles all your media for you. It's free. It has an amazing amount of add-ons plugins and controls to make it ridiculously powerful.
HTPC manager supports it which is already a pbi. https://github.com/styxit/HTPC-Manager. And

The fact that plex isnt really free is the main reason. You get access to everything plex does with XBMC for free. Pluss XBMC has an amazing more amount of plugins to manage all your data. Thats the reason. Dont forget you can use xbmc as the media server.

Hate to break it to you, but Plex IS free. The Plexpass stuff lets you experiment with new features before they are fully tested and made mainstream. But unless you want to test new features(which some have come with crippling bugs) the publicly available free version is more than adequate.

Also not when you use there android prog. That costs

That may be. But it doesn't have 1/5 the plug ins that xbmc has. In fact it has none.

Much better Idea.. With MiniDLNA there is no reason to run XBMC headless..

What's the point? Just install xbmc on all of your clients and use samba to access the FreeNAS. I do not see any point on installing it on the FreeNAS itself. Or am I getting your idea wrong somehow?

Do not focus on new plugins, rather make sure the current ones are updated sooner.
For example, for plex Nov 2013 version 1.0 came out. The PBI in the repository is not updated however.

There is no need for this. Use Joshua's plugins if you want them all on the same jail. Very easy to do.

The Plex plugin on the repo is the newest public Plex Server software.

OK, wrong example indeed. However; Couch for example already had an update quite a while ago to 2.0. Why is it not in the repository yet? I would love to use the update button...
