Deluge installation problems

Hi folks, I've been trying to install Deluge into a jail. I've tried both these guides: here and here.

Neither of them work. The first one guides you all the way through and, with some additional steps that aren't covered, delivers you neatly to a login screen which asks for a password which is completely random. So you can't log on.

The second sets the jail up so it won't actually start.

Can anybody point me towards a set of steps for installing Deluge that actually achieve that aim? Or perhaps some alternative to Deluge, as I've lost six hours of my life to this already

I think the default password is "deluge"
