Hello, so i managed to install Scale no issues but when i transfer the data from CORE General-Save Config to Scale the server reboots and then i don't have a gui nor ip. When i press 1 to setup network nothing happens i see some words that flashes really fast but then it goes back to the main menu.

You cannot import a CORE config into SCALE. Simple as that

The pool is connected to your SCALE system? Import should work then.

@Patrick M. Hausen Sadly enough in the video Tom uploaded a CORE config file into SCALE.
Like you said: Thats not supported, so @fvargasfrank shouldn't had to file a bug report.

He didn't just import a pool, he indeed uploaded a core config file as well. Which is not supported.

Please remember folks: Tom actually bricked the system in the video.

With "Ohh i was following Lawrence Systems video on it shows him doing the backup and transfer lol "
@fvargasfrank was refering to download and uploading the CORE config into SCALE which isn't actually supported yet afaik.

It was my understanding that he was trying to import a pool on a clean installation of SCALE. @fvargasfrank if you didn't, please try that. If you did, I would still recommend the bug ticket, because ZFS itself should have feature parity and import is supposed to work.

NO! You cannot import the config. Period.

Fresh install of SCALE, boot system, go to the UI - Storage - Import, import existing pool.
That's all that is supported currently. You will have your data but you will have to re-create all users, all shares, essentially all configuration.

Now I see the source of our misunderstanding. I wrote:

I was referring to importing the pool, of course.

With 21.08 you should be able to "sidegrade" from CORE to SCALE (where you install SCALE in the same media as CORE, but in a new BE/ask installer to wipe).
Tested it with nightlies and it worked fine - but my OS X machines wasn't too happy with the SMB shares ( @anodos is doing a lot of work on it, so results can be better now ) so I have rolled back until 21.08 drops.

But remember - it's still BETA, and stuff might not work

I just did what Patric told me and it works, just setting up some dockers and trying to figure it out how to assigned them ip different than the host lol learning curve

You can't. SCALE has a pretty stringent concept about how to handle "apps" and you need to setup ingress properly - there are multiple threads about this on the forum. The simple docker-compose map ports here and there is not an option with SCALE.

Well, you can set up a different IP - it's in the Kubernetes settings menu. But you still cannot set a low port, and it's one IP for all your apps, so you need to set up ingress with SNI if you want to run several applications on standard ports.

Note: with TrueCharts low ports are possible ;-)
